Tasmania is for walking people, but I'm not one of them. The picture below is my route around Tassie.
It took 7 days, but the last 2 days we just drove through surroundings of Launceston to wait for back flight. But It wasn't boring because there are many farms. My favourite's honey farm at Chudleigh. You can taste there around 50 sort of honey and honey ice-cream.
But I came to Australia to see penguins, Tasmanian devils and seals. Yes, seals and penguins can be seen at Melbourne as well, but easy way is not for me. East coast has few places where you can see penguins with renegers and whole north coast where you can see them yourself without rangers and for free. Information centres didnt provide us these info, only official points with renegers and tickets. Renegers protect penguins from tourists it's good mission of cause.
We had lovely cruise from port Arthur to see seals. We've seen dolphins, whales, whale killers, seals, albatross and beautiful rocks for good price to compare with Sydney cruises just for whales.
Port Arthur is great place. I've been to old prison there. It's absolutely amazing feeling, time stopped there. It's like to be in old movie. The spirit of that time still at that spot. I wish you be there.
It's not only ruins, the territory has few old houses of some workers with furniture of that time. Even with smell of that time :)
Enjoy Tassie as I did!
