Australian and the US standards about infant car seats require a base to permanently fit in a car and a portable capsule. The base is optional in the US. The standards about strapping of a capsule in the two countries are still different.
How to fit an Australian capsule you can find here. It's maxi-cosi manual.
European standards are not that difficult as Australian one. No base, no extra belts.
But what I what to talk about is design of car seats.
Let's compare design in the US, Australia and Europe by one big company as Maxi-Cosi. They are big company and have their car seats distribution in all of these countries.
Since I'm mummy-to-be I should prepare a lot of things for my baby. The problem is I just don't know what I should choose. It's really hard to be prepare for I don't know what. Some mums give a lots of advice and recommendations, to be honest these recommendations are opposite sometimes. My personal opinion is nothing works for everyone, all people are different, everything depends on plenty of personal facts. So I just can't take somebody's advice because it's works for her and her baby I should try to find my own way.
I started finding my own way from a pram. Australians don't spend much money on it. Australian market of prams is really small. There are few good brands as Stokke, iCandy, Bugaboo, Quinny. A design of these prams are not bad, but they have just few boring colors. I made research and found a lot of really good looking prams in UK, there was big surprise for me as those prams were much cheaper even with shipping cost than boring Australian ones.
My choice is Cosatto travel system, you can buy it through UK Amazon or UKPramWorld. This pram has carrycot, seat, changing bag, changing mat and messy bag. The pram could be connected to a car seat. They have the same design car seats. The only problem is the car seat is made by European standards and not suitable for Australia or US. I will write about car seats and different world standards in the next post.
I'm really happy about my pram because I love stuff with personality. By the way it's Cosatto slogan "Baby stuff with personality". I read a nice analogue about pram on some baby blog "A pram is like a wedding dress", I really think so too :)
So mummies who want something special for their babies have a look at UK market, you can find there what will suit you and your little one.
I as most of women like shopping. Because I spend half of my life with a laptop, I prefer to buy something online. I come to some american ecommerce from some links or google search and price for the same goods makes me cry. The cost for some items are 8 times more than in Australia.
Today is Black Friday there. Cheap prices are becoming to be much cheaper. Can I start cry? :) Australia even doesn't have Black Friday. All prices are huge, it's impossible to compare even sale price to american usual prices.
Most of american ecommerce websites deliver only within US. If they do deliver, a delivery price make total cost not so cheap. But it's still good for great shopping with few items.
Unfortunately I always do it spontaneous and buy 1-3 items per time.
