I had a great day at Coogee Beach on the last weekend. But a start and an end weren't that good. It was very sunny day, so Coogee was extremely busy. There are only 2 parkings for 100 cars maximum, I guess. So it's not surprise all streets nearby are busy as well. It's not easy to find parking there.
When I finally found free spot, I was very happy. But then after few hours of fun on the beach, I found a fine for $99 for blocking access to driveway. Really?! Can anybody see blocking? Yes, my car is 10 cm out of a line, but it's not the same. It should another tittle for that offence, because sorry, but I can't see blocking someone or staying on driveway, can you? Then why did I get fine for that? It means I could just park on somebody's driveway to totally block some cars or on some another prohibited spots and I would get the same fine.
What lesson should I get? Don't park like that? Well I tried to find spot around Coogee for 40 mins... So I guess, I wouldn't try to park such careful next time, if it's the same fine.
Australian law is not about carry about people, it only about to get money as much as possible.
Speed cams, they are everywhere. How can they help? If somebody drives with speeding, that person could see signs about a cam and reduce speed for short time, then continue driving with the same speed as was before. If a speeder don't see cams signs and the cam, he/she will receive a fine. But how does it suppose to help at the moment of speeding? Maybe an accident already happened and next time for the driver will come never.
Well people need a protection from government. There are no protection now, it's just machine to fleece people.
